此美术馆建于名古屋市中心的白川公园内一块三角形的地段上。由于建筑物高度受到限制(只能建两层),因此建筑师采用了几条轴线来布置平面,以尽量争取面积。其主轴线为南北向,西侧则由美丽的林荫步道所限定。
The museum was built on a triangular section of Shirakawa Park in downtown Nagoya. Due to the limited height of the building (only two floors can be built), the architect used several axes to lay out the plane so as to maximize the area. Its main axis is north-south and west is defined by beautiful tree-lined trails.
