一、选育经过 1983年晚季,在本所育种基点南靖良种场的“78130”群体中选到了谷壳呈深褐色的变异株。1984年早季,在重稻瘟病区进行了抗性鉴定,表现抗稻瘟病而不再分离,比“78130”早熟2天,小区测产500.5公斤,同年晚季又回南靖良种场倒种繁殖,综合性状表现比早季更突出,单产471.5公斤。1985年在安溪境内进行多点示范和鉴定,表现良好,获得好评,并定名为“闽科早1号”,1986年起在全省各地进行扩大示范推广。
