The science and technology revitalization plan aimed at expanding China’s exports of high-tech products and promoting China’s transition from a foreign trade power to a strong foreign trade country was recently launched by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The reporter learned from the National Conference on Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Beijing recently that the goal of the Sci-Tech Trade Promotion Program is to cultivate a group of high-tech export products with strong international competitiveness, high added value, and large export scale in China’s advantageous technical fields. With enterprises, the export of high-tech products in China will increase by 30% on an annual basis, and strive to produce high-tech products in 2002.
