The term “GEM” is derived from Hong Kong, or “second board” or “second transaction system.” It is a concept that is opposed to the main board market and refers to a new market that provides financing channels for SMEs and emerging companies in addition to the main board. The Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) is an important part of the capital market of a country or region. The main difference between the Growth Enterprise Market and the Main Market lies in its different listing standards. The targets of the Growth Enterprise Market are mostly emerging SMEs with potential growth, especially high-tech enterprises.
