内蒙古自治区中西部的呼和浩特市、包头等地区气候干燥、日照充足、降水量少、昼夜温差大、土质沙壤,非常适合于茄果类蔬菜的生长和种子生产。但由于无霜期较短的限制,80年代我区的甜椒制种一直没能得到很好发展,进入90年代,我区首先尝试和推广了在保护地大、中棚内进行甜椒制种,并获得成功,使我区的甜椒制种生产跃上了一个新的台阶。通过几制种实践,我们认为在保护地内进行甜椒制种具有以下一些优点:
