Since the establishment of Computer World by IDG and the former Ministry of Electronics Industry in 1980, no foreign investor has ever had the chance to directly enter the media industry in China because our country’s law prohibits foreign capital from entering the media field. With the rapid development of information technology, China has joined the global boom in building the Natoinal Informatoin Infrastructure (NII). “National Information Infrastructure (NII)” is commonly known as “information superhighway.” The emergence and development of the “Information Superhighway” in China will make it possible for foreign investors to participate in the Chinese media market under the Chinese legal framework. This article will start from the perspective of NII to bring about new market opportunities, trying to analyze the future trend of China’s mass media and the possibility of cooperation between our government, the mass media in our country and foreign investors in promoting China’s media industry to enter new markets.
