致癌性Shabad 等用蒸馏的纯苯涂小鼠皮肤5个月,未引发皮肤肿瘤。用酚涂抹小鼠皮肤,能刺激有丝分裂。以20%的酚反复涂皮,可引起多发乳头瘤。用肿瘤引发剂7,12-二甲基苯蒽先处理小鼠皮肤,然后再涂以20%酚或甲酚溶液,均能促进乳头瘤;而苯和卢β-萘酚则无此作用。单独用10%或20%酚溶液涂小鼠皮肤,均可产生乳头瘤及上皮细胞癌。邻-、对-硝基酚都未引起皮肤肿瘤。Boyland 等用含氢醌的甾醇片植入大鼠膀
Carcinogenicity Shabad and other distilled pure benzene coated mouse skin for 5 months, did not cause skin tumors. Applying mouse skin to phenol stimulates mitosis. Repeated coating with 20% phenol can cause multiple papillomas. Treatment of mouse skin with 7,12-dimethylbenzyl anthracene, a tumor-initiating agent, followed by a 20% phenol or cresol solution boosted papilloma; benzene and Lu β-naphthol did not. Applying 10% or 20% phenol solution alone to mouse skin produces papilloma and epithelial cell carcinoma. Neo-, p-nitrophenol did not cause skin tumors.
