In summer of 2010,JCST invited me to organize a special issue on theoretical computer science (TCS).The goal of this special issue is to provide a place for presenting the recent advances in TCS community,and promoting theoretical computer science research in China.rnWe invited six papers to this special issue that were presented at major conferences in theoretical computer science in the last two years,including ISAAC,RANDOM-APPROX,STACS,WINE,ICS,etc.The submissions went through a rigorous review process.The final contributions represent different aspects of theoretical computer science,ranging from algorithmic game theory to locally decodable code lower bound,from SAT to Nash equilibrium,and from group isomorphism to Unique Game Conjecture.
