整风运动和反右派斗争以后,我们的戏剧事业有了很大的发展。许多剧作家热烈响应党的号召,纷纷下乡下厂,担任基层工作,参加劳动锻练;一面续继改造自己,一面熟悉工农群众生活,收获是十分丰富的。一年来,在舞台上,我们看到了许多新的剧目。如象《红色风暴》《烈火红心》《红旗处处飘》《十三陵畅想曲》《红大院》等。这些剧目都具有一定的政治水平和艺术水平,普遍受到群众的欢迎。这些剧本程度不等地反映了劳动人民在革命斗争和社会主义建设中的思想感情。通过这些艺术形象进一步鼓舞了广大群众的革命干劲,增强了建设社会主义的信心。但是在目前象这样的剧目为数并不多,还不能满足人民群众的要求。反映重大革命历史主题、当前反帝斗争和保卫世界和平等方面的剧作不多,反映社会主义建设的作品那就更少了。特别是在我国大跃进形势下劳动人民的冲天干劲和创造精神,在我们的舞台上还没有得到应有的反映。象全民办公社、全民炼钢、全民兴办水利,以及在这些伟大建设当中
After the rectification campaign and the anti-Rightist struggle, our dramatic career has greatly developed. Many playwrights responded enthusiastically to the party’s call and went to the factory one after another to serve as grass-roots workmen and participate in labor training. While continuing to reform themselves and become familiar with the livelihood of workers and peasants, the harvest was very rich. In the past year, on stage, we have seen many new repertoire. Such as “Red Storm” “Red Fire Heart” “Red Floating everywhere” “Ming Tombs Imagination” “Red Courtyard” and so on. These repertory have a certain level of political and artistic level, generally welcomed by the masses. The extent of these plays reflects unequally the ideological feelings of the working people in the revolutionary struggles and in the building of socialism. Through these artistic images, they further encouraged the revolutionary enthusiasm of the masses and enhanced the confidence in building socialism. However, at present, the number of such repertoires is not large enough to satisfy the needs of the masses. There are not many dramas that reflect the major revolutionary historical themes, the current anti-imperialist struggle, and the defense of the world peace. There are even fewer works that reflect the socialist construction. Especially in the light of the great leap forward in our country, the energetic and creative spirit of working people has not yet been properly reflected on our stage.
