煤矿开采有不同程度的粉尘危害。一般讲乡镇小型矿山的劳动卫生条件差,粉尘危害大,但采取有效防尘措施,也能控制尘肺发病率或延长发病工龄。阳城县四候煤矿建矿17年来未发现尘肺患者,就有力地证明这一点。四候煤矿是一个年产原煤140万吨小矿,现有职工145人,其中从事井下煤尘作业工人95名。几年来,它们在不断深化企业改革中,因地制宜地采取了以“水、风、护”为主的综合防尘措施,使井下煤尘浓度大幅度下降,部分作业点已达到
