长岛,位于山东半岛与辽东半岛之间黄渤海交汇处,历称庙岛群岛,素有海上仙山之誉。全县由32个岛屿组成,岛陆总面积为56 km2,海岸线总长146 km,拥有8700 km2的辽阔海域。几年来,县环保局与海洋与渔业等部门密切配合,着重控制污染物的入海量,强化了对海域环境产生影响的建设项目的规划管理和实施海域生态保护工程,取得了明显的成效,使海洋资源得到了合理有序的利用,海洋生态环境得到了改善。
