矿山开采是在不安全因素众多的自然环境中进行,客观存在水、火、瓦斯、顶板等危险因素,但矿产开采毕竟是一种人为活动,诸多不安全因素有一定的规律,能够借助一定的科学技术手段对各种矿山事故进行预测和预防。
