由于旅游活动与自然界的天然联系,旅游业发展就不可能不受自然资源与生态环境的制约。在西沙旅游业发展中的重要的影响因素之一就是西沙群岛独特的气象。西沙群岛的旅游事业既依赖与其独特的气象特征,又受制于其天气,气候变化对旅游业发展的影响也正在显现,随着气温的升高、冰川的消融以及海平面的不断上升,同时洪涝、干旱、台风、高温以及雪灾和沙尘暴等气象灾害的频率也正在不断地加剧,世界旅游资源的分布和世界旅游市场的格局,都有可能会被彻底地改变。
