In this study, the changes of lymphocyte membrane fluidity and the relationship with lipid peroxidation in mice with occlusal trauma were observed. The results showed that after the trauma, the fluidity of lymphocytes from spleen, thymus and mesenteric lymph nodes decreased, the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx ), Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and vitamin E (VE) were significantly decreased. The fluidity of lymphocyte membrane is closely related to the change of each index. Trauma serum MDA, SOD and VE content also showed similar changes. In vivo application of VE and SOD can significantly reduce MDA levels in serum and lymphoid tissue of traumatized mice and increase the fluidity of lymphocyte membrane. The above results show that post-traumatic lipid peroxidation may be an important reason for the decrease of fluidity of lymphocyte membranes.
