有80余年历史的英文杂志《当代世界文学》从1935年开始关注中国文学。20世纪90年代以来,《当代世界文学》对中国文学的评论范围日益扩大,探讨的频率不断增加。杂志所属的纽斯塔国际文学奖从80年代开始不断邀请中国知名作家担任评委,多名中国作家成为此奖的候选人。该杂志还为新设立的纽曼华语文学奖开设推介和研究中国文学的窗口。这些都显示中国文学的国际影响力在日益增强,对世界文学的贡献越来越大。
More than 80 years of history in English magazine “Contemporary World Literature” from the beginning of 1935 began to focus on Chinese literature. Since the 1990s, the scope of commentary on Chinese literature by “Contemporary World Literature” has been expanding and the frequency of discussions has been on the rise. The magazine’s Newest International Literary Prize has invited well-known Chinese writers as judges since the 1980s, and more Chinese writers have become candidates for the prize. The magazine also offers a window to promote and study Chinese literature for the newly created Newman Chinese Literature Award. All of these show that the international influence of Chinese literature is increasing day by day and its contribution to world literature is getting bigger and bigger.
