中国地质学会探矿工程专业委员会第二届委员会暨学术会议于1979年11月7日至16日在北戴河召开。 这次大会是在1965年第一届委员会首次学术会议之后,相隔十四年,在探矿园地百花竞放,欣欣向荣的科学的春天召开的一次盛会。地质、冶金、煤炭、二机、建工、建材、化工、水利、电力、铁道十个部的238位探矿工作者,将他们长期坚持科研和生产实践所取得的成果——162篇学术论文贡献给了大会。 会议听取并通过了第一届委员会主任委员苗禾丰同志所做的工作报告;选举了第二届委员会正付主任、委员和秘书长,下设秘书处和六个专业组,负责学术交流和日常业务工作;通过了专业委员会章程简则;拟定了八○年和今后学会活动以及学术活动计划。 会议期间还举行了探矿科学学术报告会。大会听取了四个学术报告,五个国外考察报
