Valle Grande is a low-temperature (200 chilled unit), high-yielding, high-quality, precocious (mid-April) peach cultivar. Down the Grande Valley and in southern Texas, it is a fruit that is adapted to commercial value and yard-planted crops in subtropical climates. Most of the year, the Walgreens peach maturity in the lower reaches of the Grande River valley is one week later in April than in the earliest “Grande Grande precocious” peach varieties. The maturity of the Val Grande Wallace follows immediately after “Bowen” (1980) and “Prince of Florida” (Sherman et al., 1982), but not before the immature “Tropical Beauty” in April Peach (Ronse and Sherman, 1989) and ripened tropical peach (May) Rouse and Sherman 1987) and Florida
