With the advent of a knowledge-based economy and society, the theoretical paradigm of library science and information science has undergone a series of changes in the basic theories of library science and information science from the emphasis on literature to the cult of information and the promotion of knowledge. Literature Organization → Information Organization → Knowledge Organization is the research focus and hotspot that scholars carry on with the progress of this process. At present, the form of knowledge organization of the Web is being transformed from the Web based on digital resources (first generation) and based on information integration services (second generation) to the third generation of semantic Web based on user requirements.
