记得20多年前,中国改革开放不到10年时间,一部关于大河文明和海洋文明的电视片引起了全国范围的大讨论。基本的共识是中国过去几千年是大河文明的典型,而西欧是典型的海洋文明,两种文明的差异也是近代中国落后的一个重要原因。20多年来,大河与海洋界限在模糊,大河与海洋直接连接。中国造产品已经在地球家园无处不在,占领了全世界大部分国家的商场货架,以至于国人出国买回来的商品往往是外国品牌中国造。中国品牌企业通过自身拓展或国际并购在国际化进程中收获也颇丰。1984年下海的柳传志在20多年后的今天,终于可以面对媒体表示联想并购IBM个人电脑业务六年后,“我们可以自豪地、肯定地说,这次大规模并购是成功了!”下海成功的柳传志终于率领联想出海成功。柳传志的自豪源于2010年联想集团漂亮的财务报表和在国际新兴市场上超过主要竞争对手的业绩。
I remember 20 years ago, less than 10 years after China’s reform and opening up took place, a television program on rivers and civilizations and marine civilization aroused a nationwide debate. The basic consensus is that in the past few thousand years China has become a typical example of a large river civilization while Western Europe is a typical marine civilization. The difference between the two civilizations is also an important reason behind the backwardness of China in modern China. For more than two decades, the boundary between rivers and oceans has been blurred, and rivers and seas have been directly linked. Made-in-China products are already ubiquitous on Earth’s homeland, occupying store shelves in most countries around the world, so that the goods they buy abroad are often made in China by foreign brands. Chinese brands through their own expansion or international mergers and acquisitions in the process of internationalization also quite good. After more than 20 years from now, Liu Chuanzhi of the sea in 1984 finally could face the media’s announcement that after six years of Lenovo’s acquisition of IBM’s personal computer business, “We are proud to say that this large-scale merger was a success!” Liu Chuanzhi succeeded in the sea finally led the success of Lenovo to sea. Liu’s pride stems from the 2010 Lenovo Group’s beautiful financial statements and performance in major international emerging markets over major competitors.
