《江苏省档案管理条例》(以下简称《条例》)已由江苏省第九届人民代表大会常务委员会第四次会议于1998年8月28日通过,将于1998年11月1日起施行.《条例》是依据《档案法》,结合我省档案工作的实际制定的,是我省第一部地方性档案法规.《条例》的颁布实施,是我省档案事业发展中的一件大事,标志着我省依法治档工作提高到了一个新的水平.《条例》的贯彻实施,对于在社会主义市场经济条件下加强我省档案法制建设，依法管理档案工作，保障和促进我省档案事业持续健康发展，使档案工作更好地为我省改革开放和社会主义现代化建设服务，具有积极的现实意义和深远的历史意义。
