“流行”的概念,来自19世纪法国高级时装出现之时。我国大众虽然近年来才对此有所理解和接受,其实它早已融入了我们的生活,伴随我们度过了千百年悠久的岁月年华。 翻开史书,王安石的《风俗》篇中,早有关于“流行”的记载,“京师者,风俗之枢纽也。所谓京师是百奇之渊,众伪之府,异装奇服,朝新于宫廷,暮仿于市井,不几月而满天下。”这里所说“朝新”和“暮仿”是指的所谓“异装奇服”流行的起始和终尾。而“满天下”是指普及的范围。并清楚地说明了,古代服装在京都重地,一直做为风俗传播枢纽的客观事实。白居易诗作《时世妆》中也记载着“时世妆,时世妆,出自城中传四方。”也证实,古代时尚的流行,是自上而下,先宫廷后民间的传播方式。 我们曾将中、西方服装流行的产生延续分成三个阶段:即形成期、过渡期和发展期。“流行”的形成期,正是处在漫长的历史长河之中,那时,由于封建社会等级制度的制约,限于阶级界限,流行的规模小,而且周期长。 中国古代裙式的流行,是极好的例证,始于公元前11世纪的西周时期。
