马浮(1883—1967),又名一浮,号湛翁,又号蠲戏老人,浙江绍兴人。十岁能诗,有神童之誉。入上海南洋公学,与谢无量结为好友。应清政府驻美使馆之聘,赴美国圣路易斯留学生监督公署担任中文文牍,期间游历英国、德国,翻译《法国革命党史》等书。次年转赴日本留学,其时谢无量因邹容案发而避居日本,两人结伴归国,在镇江焦山海西庵研究西学。一年后寄居杭州外西湖广化寺,将其研治重点转向国学。民国初年,蔡元培任教育总长,聘马一浮为秘书长,但他反对废除读经,坚辞不就,隐居治学,过着“下帘疑罢卜,隐几即援琴”的
