胡锦涛总书记在第十七届中央纪委第二次全会上强调:廉政和勤政,是对干部的基本要求,也是加强反腐倡廉要达到的两个相互联系的重要目标。加强反腐倡廉建设,要坚持廉政建设与勤政建设相结合,既要一刻不放松地抓好廉政建设,又要持之以恒地抓好勤政建设。要把廉政建设的要求贯穿于勤政建设之中,通过加强勤政建设促进廉政建设。可以说,廉政和勤政,不仅是对干部的基本要求,而且是对党政机关乃至所有公权力单位的基本要求。
At the Second Plenary Session of the 17th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, General Secretary Hu Jintao emphasized: Integrity and diligence are the basic requirements of cadres as well as the two interrelated important goals to be reached in strengthening anti-corruption and building a clean government. To strengthen anti-corruption and build a clean government, we must insist on combining the building of a clean and honest government with the construction of a diligent government, and at the same time, we must do a good job in building a clean and honest government without any relaxation at a moment’s notice. The requirements for the construction of an honest and clean government should be permeated with the construction of diligence and the promotion of building an honest and clean government by strengthening the construction of diligence and administration. It can be said that honest government and diligent politics are not only the basic requirements of cadres, but also the basic requirements of party and government organs and even all public power units.
