The Internet industry is the forerunner of big data and they’ve been living out here to see how they are doing. In the Internet industry, Big Data offers rewards for e-commerce and advertisers. Yahoo started using big data technology in early 2008 to analyze more than 200PB (1PB = 1024TB) of data daily, making Yahoo services more user-friendly and closer to users and customers. It collaborates with every aspect of Yahoo’s IT system, including search, advertising, user experience and fraud detection. AOL also set up a 300-node server cluster that will have 500TB of user browsing messages per day on its subordinate family of sites (AOL.com, HuffingtonPost, MapQuest, etc.)
