山野豌豆(Vicia amoena)是野生豆科牧草。其营养价值和适口性与紫苜蓿相近,抗性比苜蓿强得多,尤其是抗寒、抗旱性能更好。在河北坝上地区,紫花苜蓿很难越冬的地方它能安全越冬,在连续50天左右干旱情况下能正常生长。山野豌豆与禾本科牧草混播,每亩产干草高达942公斤,连续收获六年产量一直稳定。因此,我国北方不少地区都在进行人工栽培。为了尽快将它驯化为栽培良种,我们在进行栽培驯化的过程中,对山野豌豆和黑龙江野豌豆植株
