为了《世界科学》的生存,并在生存的前提下求得发展,本刊在去年作出调价的决定。调价之后情况如何?这里我们向广大读者通报一下。首先,我们要感谢继续订阅和新订阅《世界科学》的单位和读者,是你们理解了我们,支持了我们。离开了广大读者,《世界科学》也就无法生存。感到欣慰的是,调价之后,每期的总收入比调价前略有增加。而且我们已把封面的套色印刷改成铜版胶印,就外观质量而言,已是大大提高。当你们拿到第一期时,我们的读者一定会感到耳目一新。当然,外观质量不一定能代表内在质量。因此,在内容上,我们同样采取一些改进措施,使内容更精采、更丰富,可读性更强。这从第一期及以后的各期中,你们会逐步体会到的。
