后现代主义文学反对固化、一成不变的写作模式,冲破文学与非文学的限定,主张多元与异化,使作品呈现非文学化、非审美化、非模式化的倾向,从而创立了后现代主义文学作品的共同审美特征:结构的杂乱无章、内容的荒诞不经、形式的丰富多样、语言的古灵精怪以及意义的不确定性和游戏性等。库尔特·冯内古特的后现代主义风格小说《时震》充分运用了侵入式、不确定性、矛盾开放、黑色幽默等后现代主义的创作手法,展现了后现代主义叙事手法多元性的特点。
