中华人民共和国成立时,我十七八岁,进入懂事的成人阶段。1950年到河南省办供销合作社,是参加新中国经济建设之始。1958年将“中华人民共和国经济史”作为课题进行研究,追求对它的理性认识。我是中华人民共和国经济成长的亲历者、参与者和研究者。从切身感受、长期观察与系统研究所得到的认识是:从1949年至今的65年间,中国经济发生了剧变,剧变中有延续,剧变中有不变。延续与不变使历史发展呈现出连贯性和整体性;剧变是使历史呈现出不同时期的差异性和发展的阶段性。一、以探索为视角对于怎样认识建国后65年来经济发展的连贯性与阶段性,视角极为重要。对同一事物,视角不同,看到的景象迥异。我研究中华人民共和国经济史,自始就采取探索的视角。这包括两层含义。第一,把中华人民共和国经济史看作一个探索的过程。从中华人民共和国成立以来,“我们在探索中前进”。自1949年到1987年的“这38年,是探索的年代,变革的年代,胜利的年代。”~①“社会主义在实践中,社会主义在创造中。在中国,是如此。在全世界,是如此。谁也不是神仙或上帝,谁也不可能事先拿出一个万无一失的详尽具体的建设社会主义的方案。各个社会主义国家都在探索。我们把建国后的各种主张、政策、实践,无论是成功了的,还是失败了的,都看成出于探索的动机,是一种试验,一种探索的过程。从这个角度去认识,便好理解已经发生的事件,便知道缺点错误,包括
