西部大开发,是党中央、国务院的英明决策。今年是实施西部大开发的五周年,5年来,地处西部居西南地区的我区部队和民兵、预备役人员,积极响应党中央、国务院、中央军委的号召,参加支援西部大开发、建功西部大开发,为西南地区的“三个文明”建设添砖加瓦,受到地方各级政府和各民族群众的高度赞誉。 从2005年第1期起,本刊将在《率兵带民建功西部开发》栏目连续报道我区民兵、预备役人员参加和支援西部大开发建设的事迹,敬请关注。--编者
