在上世纪80年代的神州大地上,听广播跟现在的看电影、泡吧一样,是一种全民时尚。而她的声音便通过广播传遍了大江南北,一到她的评书播讲时间,人们专心守候在收音机旁,聆听她一张嘴说出沙场驰骋的千军万马、道出缠绵悱恻的儿女情长。街上行人明显稀少,甚至刑事案件发生率似乎也大为降低,人们笑称她为新时代的“净街王”。世纪之交,这一现象被某权威媒体评为“20世纪中国娱乐圈十大事件之一”。她的成名作《岳飞传》当年曾创下百余家电台同时播放、图书发行量过百万册的火爆局面。
