从2000年6月1日零时起,香港最后一个越南难民营——望后石越南难民中心关闭,使困扰香港25年的越南难民问题划上了句号。居住在难民营的最后1400多名越南难民和船民,可以申请居港权,融入香港社会。而在中国与越南的所有边境上,如今还生活着至少数万名越南难民。在中国他们已生活了20多年,有的生下了第四代孩子。随着越南难民在香港的消失,这些生活在中国边境的难民的情况又是怎么样呢?
From 0:00 on June 1, 2000, the closure of the Vietnam Refugee Center-Hope Rock, the last Vietnamese refugee camp in Hong Kong, ended the issue of Vietnamese refugees that have plagued Hong Kong for 25 years. The last 1,400 Vietnamese refugees and boat people living in refugee camps can apply for the right of abode in Hong Kong and integrate into Hong Kong society. At the present time, at least tens of thousands of Vietnamese refugees now live on all the borders between China and Vietnam. In China they have lived for more than 20 years, some gave birth to the fourth generation of children. With the disappearance of Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong, how are these refugees living along the Chinese border?
