守德先生工魏碑,亦工诗文。书法博士韦渊谓其“魏碑愈大愈见其佳,愈大愈雄强,有高古博大气象。”其书得魏碑真传,气势恢宏,令人瞩目。他之前练过米芾、王铎的行草书,但进展甚微。五十岁之后得到名家指点改写魏碑,终于找到了突破口,其作品不但多次入展国展,而且让人耳目一新,尤其是写大字,许多国展高手自叹不如。“魏碑三人行”作品展,他创作的《栉风沐雨》榜书作品,字径超过一米,笔力惊人,茂密雄强。刘德宏见状大为感叹:“写大字能达到此等水平,在全国也不多见!”
