1. The application of cellular automata to the well-known Lotka-Voterra model in dissipative structure theory shows that cellular automaton provides us with a research idea and research method that is different from thermodynamics and statistical physics. Using cellular automata to study the influence of running ability, which is difficult to describe by differential equation, on the evolution of L-V system.
