More than 150 years ago, after the failure of the Muslim uprising in northwestern China, thousands of relics battling into refugees in Russia and China, together with other Muslims who later made their living here, gradually formed a minority of the former Soviet Union, the Donggan Family. At present, the ethnic groups of about 100,000 people are still scattered in small groups in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan today. I was fortunate to have visited and interviewed East-East ethnic groups in Central Asia three times in 1991, 1997 and 2013 and obtained many valuable images. Here, I specifically selected a small part of the representative to readers.
