著名京剧老艺术家张桂轩,于二月二十七日在南京逝世。享年九十四岁。张桂轩老先生,原籍山东济南,后迁居河北澄海。他生在一个贫苦的农民家里。七岁练功,十一岁起开始学戏,初拜天津名伶景文心为师,后来又从王鸿寿(老三麻子)学习,擅演文武老生,尤长武戏,《挑滑车》《长坂坡》《白水滩》等长靠短打的戏均享盛名。从十八岁离开科班以后,在上海、北京等地演出了五十多年,曾与冯子和、盖叫天等合演,共演出过一百多出戏。1952年起开始教戏,历任军事学院、南京市青年京剧团的教师,江苏戏曲学院副院长。张桂轩老先生勤学苦练,到老不懈,直到九十岁高龄,仍是每天早晨练工、吊嗓,还能登台演出。老先生的勤劳的精神、热爱艺术的品德,成为青年一代演员的好榜样。
Famous old opera artist Zhang Guixuan died on February 27 in Nanjing. At the age of 94. Zhang Guixuan old gentleman, Jinan, Shandong native, moved to Chenghai, Hebei.
