丁颖(1888—1964),字竹铭,广东高州人,是我国优秀的农业科学家,生前任中国农业科学院院长、华南农学院院长、中国科学院学部委员、全国科协副主席。丁颖教授早年立志学习农业科学,致力“民生”,“要使吃亏吃不尽的中国农民开始与现代科学发生联系”,以解决温饱。
Ding Ying (1888-1964), the word Zhu Ming, Guangdong Gaozhou people, is China’s outstanding agricultural scientist, former director of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, South China Agricultural College, Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician, vice chairman of the National Association for Science and Technology. In his early years, Professor Ding Ying was determined to study agricultural science, devoted himself to “livelihood,” and “making the loss of an inexhaustible Chinese peasant begin to connect with modern science” to solve the problem of food and clothing.
