国务院副总理朱镕基在7月23日闭幕的全国财政工作会议和税务工作会议的讲话中强调:财税工作的当务之急是整顿财税秩序,加快财税改革,用改革的办法进行整顿,在整顿的基础上加快改革。他勉励财税战线的广大职工加倍努力,为贯彻落实党中央、国务院关于加强宏观调控的一系列措施,确保国民经济既是快速又能持续、协调地发展做出更大贡献。全国财政工作会议和税务工作会议是7月20日至23日在北京同时举行的,来自各省、自治区、直辖市和计划单列市的财政、税务厅(局)长和国务院有关部门负责人出席了会议。
State Council Vice Premier Zhu Rongji emphasized in his address to the National Conference on Financial Work and Taxation Work which ended on July 23 that the top priority of the fiscal and taxation work is to rectify the fiscal and taxation order and speed up the fiscal and taxation reform and carry out rectification by means of reform and accelerate on the basis of rectification reform. He encouraged the broad masses of workers and staff in the fiscal and tax front to redouble their efforts to implement the series of measures by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening macro-economic control so as to ensure that the national economy will make greater contributions both in a rapid, sustained and coordinated manner. The national finance conference and tax conference were held in Beijing from July 20 to July 23 at the same time. The heads of the finance and taxation departments (bureau) and the heads of departments in charge of the State Council from provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and cities specifically designated in the state plans to attend the conference .
