On March 16, 2016, on the last day of the NPC and CPPCC sessions, the NPC passed the Charity Law smoothly. The draft law drafted by the National People’s Congress Internal Affairs Judicial Committee has been brewing for a decade. In the past decade, only 18 symposiums were held at Renmin University of China in response to this act. Five different versions of the draft law were provided for reference by the legislature by colleges and universities such as Tsinghua University.
