AIM: To isolate the immunoactive components from Lin-Wei-Di-Huang decoction (LW) and to elucidate the pharmacologicaleffecs. METHODS: The chemical fractionation andpharmacological evaluation were closely linked step by step toisolate the immunoctive components from the LW.Cyclophosphamide (Cy )-treated mice were employed asimmunodeficient model and the antibody production response inplaque-forming cell (PFC) assay was selected to evaluate theactivity. The fractions which possessed the activity weresubjected to further fractionation until the active components wereobtained. The pharmacological effects of the fraction componentswere studied using cellular and humoral immunological assays.RESULTS: LW was firstly divided into two portions by ethanoland both showed active. The ethanol insoluble portion of LWwas further fractionated with the methods such as large-pore gel
