众所周知,艺术博览会已经不再仅仅局限于博览会本身。自开幕酒会伊始,甚至更早些时候,当地的艺术及文化组织就会像旅鼠一样闻风而动,筹备各自的活动——假如一场艺术博览会没有配套的系列活动及展览,便称不得是真正的艺术博览会;而对于一场完整的艺术博览会来说,在全城展开“艺术周”俨然成了必备环节。同样地,在博览会现场召开“碰头会”或“专题研讨会”也是必不可少的安排。其中一部分难免流于形式,这情有可原——这些活动本身并不是目的,它们也许已沦为了隔壁会议室金钱交易的装饰品。好在,迪拜艺术博览会的年度讨论和系列演讲活动漂亮地抓住了“艺术”之精髓,不再墨守成规,坚持其崇尚思想的自然本性。
As we all know, the art fair is no longer limited to the fair itself. From the very beginning of the opening ceremony, even earlier, local arts and cultural organizations would act like lemmings and prepare their own activities - if an art fair does not have an accompanying series of events and exhibitions, it may not be real Art Fair; and for a complete art fair, in the city to start “Art Week ” has become a necessary part. Similarly, holding “meeting” or “workshop” at the fair site is also an essential arrangement. It is for granted that some are inevitably mere formality - these are not ends in themselves, and they may have been reduced to ornaments for money-dealing in the conference room next door. Fortunately, the annual discussions and series of lectures held at the Dubai Art Fair have captured the essence of “art” and ceased to stick to conventions and insisted on their natural nature of advocating ideas.
