康海具有较高的关学品性,并一直践行关学思想,在现实生活中表现为对关学创建人张载所崇尚的圣人之性的自我修养和持续追求。他创作的杂剧是对关学思想的直接反映。《中山狼》是以关学人性论阐释为基础的人性戏剧,《王兰卿》则是基于关学仁德礼教思想而创作。康海的杂剧创作及其对秦腔的广泛推广是寓教于乐的变风行为,以一种新的方式潜移默化地完成了对关学的传播和乡里教化。
