The basic goal of Chinese reading teaching in middle school is to cultivate students’ ability of reading comprehension and literary appreciation, not only to enable students to intensively read the texts in Chinese textbooks, but also to emphasize reading education of famous writers and to expand their reading fields. However, there are some common problems in current Chinese reading teaching in middle school. Students lack enough interest in reading.
