In February 1977, the oxygen bottom blown converter at Chiba Plant of Kawasaki Steel Co., Ltd. in Japan began production. This is the first oxygen bottom blown converter plant in Japan with two 230-ton converters and an annual capacity of 3.5 million tons of steel. Most of the equipment for the oxygen-blowing plant is made by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Other important equipment as well as the technology related to the injection of slagging agent systems are provided by Sid Max Technology. The hot metal is transported from the blast furnace to the ATE-SKW desulphurization unit using a 350-tonne torpedo-shaped hot metal car. Ore and ferroalloy transport belt conveyor, in the refining process, the ore can be continuously added to the converter. Converter exhaust gas recovery with unburned, similar OG method Q-OG system, this system is a few Japanese steel
