《群言》的记者给我来信说,教师节又快到了,她让我说几句话。我出生在一个教师的家庭。我的祖父和大伯父都是在福建福州设馆授徒。我的二伯父在福州英华书院教授古文。我的父亲是山东烟台海军学校的校长。我和我的老伴吴文藻都在北京的燕京大学教过书。现在我的两个女儿吴冰和吴青,也都在北京外语学院教着英语。我们几代人有个共同的感觉:教师生活是辛苦而又快乐的。说到底,是快乐大于辛苦,尤其是我自己,我从和学生接触中,得到了极大的快乐。
The reporter from “Group Talk” sent me a letter saying Teacher’s Day was coming again and she let me say a few words. I was born in a teacher’s family. My grandfather and grandfather were both apprentices in Fuzhou, Fujian. My two uncle taught classical Chinese at Fuzhou Yinghua College. My father is the president of Yantai Naval Academy in Shandong. My wife Wu Wenzao and I both taught at Yanjing University in Beijing. Now my two daughters, Wu Bing and Wu Qing, both teach English at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Our generations have a common feeling: teacher life is hard and happy. After all, happiness is greater than hardship, especially for myself, and I got great happiness from my contacts with students.
