不列颠这片土地上的人民生生不息,经历了纷繁复杂的历史演变,不断的外族入侵,几百年的征服与演变,各个民族在矛盾冲突中逐渐融合,从对立走向同化,从野蛮走向文明,不列颠人经历了从浅薄愚昧向文明与智慧的进化。因此,中世纪英国世世代代流传下来的民谣往往富含深刻的思想和智慧。本文以民谣《少年马斯格雷夫和巴纳特夫人》为例,从三个角度对其进行尝试性解读,点出了该作品的思想价值。本文认为这是一首探讨“性道德”“女权”以及“阴暗心理”的劝善作品。
