“弃老传说”是广泛存在和流传于世界各地的一系列远古传说的统称。从该传说的起源地印度及其在以中国为代表的东亚大陆和日本的传播和演变中可以了解到东亚文化的传播及其演变特征,可以看出中华文化重结果、善于说理,日本文化重过程、善于体现内心情感的特点,揭示出中华民族和日本民族的文化内涵和心理、情感的不同表达方式。
