Seepersad Naipaul, novelist and travelogue writer, father of V.S. Naipaul, writer of Trinidad Defenders and author of collections of defenders and Indians. When communications started in 1959, Lao Naipaul had begun writing novels for BBC Radio’s Caleb’s Voice. V.S. Naipaul received a government scholarship at the age of 16 to study at the University of Oxford. His sister, Kamla, is abroad as well, studying at Benave Hindu University in India. My father, eldest daughter, and eldest son have been in communication all the time - nearly three hundred letters were written in three years, here is part of the compilation.
