Neurotensin (NT), a thymopeptide of peptides located in adult brain tissue and empty ileum mucosal endothelial cells, is a very important hormone that regulates intestinal motility, secretion, and the growth of small intestine and colon mucosa. The structure of the gene encoding NT, which simultaneously encodes the neuromedin N (NT / N gene), has recently been determined in rats, dogs and humans.
