商标是商品名称,是一个语言符号。商标的主要目的是为了吸引消费者的注意,激起消费者的购买欲望。所以商标的翻译不同于其他类型的文本翻译,并非简单的进行符号转换,而是要深入了解商标的文化内涵,解读其语言特点,翻译商标名就是再创造的过程。文章列举一些实例,研究商标翻译的策略,提出一些遵循的基本原则和方法。
Trademark is the name of the product, is a language symbol. The main purpose of the trademark is to attract the attention of consumers, arouse the desire of consumers to buy. Therefore, the trademark translation is different from other types of text translation. It is not a simple symbolic translation. Instead, it is necessary to understand the cultural connotation of the trademark in depth and interpret the linguistic features of the trademark. Translating the trademark name is a process of re-creation. The article cites some examples to study the strategy of trademark translation and put forward some basic principles and methods to be followed.
