More than 50 years ago, a young man stood before Edward Pickering, chief editor of the British “Daily Express,” a polite Oxford graduate who told Pickering: "I want to learn anything. Pickering may never have dreamed that the young man will become a world-renowned media magnate in the future. However, during his short internship, he discovered that the young man was born a newspaper material. He is Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch was born on March 11, 1931 in Melbourne, Australia. His father runs a tabloid newspaper, Adelaide News. In his father’s office, the smell of ink, the noise of printing presses, and the high tension created an irresistible appeal to the young Murdoch. In 1953, Murdoch took over the papers left behind by his father after working for the Daily Express for some time.
